I remember your name, your face, the feelings I had then. Joy and disappointment. I don’t regret those, but I regret for not recalling the color of your eyes and the sound of your voice. Its been too long.
We live in the same town, know the same streets, same high school. Rocked the same jersey, #24. Football games we would never miss.
I used to hate you, funny, you know. But I just put that behind me, let it go.

Every game night, when I played for the basketball team. I would strap my shoes. Pregame music playing, crowds piling up. Both teams warming up. Whenever I had time, I’d look for one person out of hundreds. Not a family member. You. I’d look for you. Because, a few words from you, changed my mind. So, thank you. Thankful I had the chance to meet you.
